> Frequently asked questions about Casting Agenda: privacy, tracking casting agencies, fees and more. A free app for extras and performers.

### General

**Is Casting Agenda a casting agency?**

No. Casting Agenda is not a casting agency. It is a free personal planning tool for extras and performers. You use the app to keep track of your own options, bookings and shoot days.

**Can I find casting calls in Casting Agenda?**

No. Casting Agenda does not publish casting calls or roles. It is only used to manage your personal schedule and production details.

**Is Casting Agenda free to use?**

Yes. Casting Agenda is completely free. There are no hidden costs, subscriptions or ads.

**Can I put the app on my phone?**

Yes. Casting Agenda runs in your browser, but you can also add it to your home screen so it opens like a regular app. On Android and in Chrome or Edge on your computer, use the browser menu ("Install app" or "Add to home screen"). On an iPhone, open the app in Safari and choose Share → "Add to Home Screen". No app store needed.

**How soon will I be booked after registering with an agency?**

It varies a lot — some people get a call within a week, others wait months. It depends on your type, your availability and which productions are running. Improve your chances by responding quickly when an agency approaches you and by keeping your availability up to date.

### Planning & schedule

**How do I track my options and shoot days?**

Many extras use a diary or a spreadsheet, but that soon gets confusing when you work with several agencies. With Casting Agenda you record the agency, location, type of role, fee and shoot days for each production — all in one place.

**Can I enter multiple shoot days per production?**

Yes. Each option supports multiple individual dates and date ranges, so you can record a production with five shoot days in one go without creating five separate options.

**Can I track multiple casting agencies?**

Yes. For every option you can select the casting agency that contacted you. You can enable or disable agencies and add your own on the agencies page.

**Can I track whether I worked as an extra, a featured extra or in a small speaking role?**

Yes. For each option you choose the type of role: extra, featured extra, small speaking role or other (with your own description, for example stand-in). On the dashboard you then see, in percentages, how the productions you have done are split, with the number of productions and the average fee per type. A production with several shoot days counts once.

**What are statuses and how do I use them?**

Each option has a status that shows its progress: Apply, Option, Booked, Fitting, Done, Paid and more. You can customise the labels, colours and visibility of statuses on the statuses page.

**What do I see when my schedule gets busy?**

The calendar shows straight away which shoot days are confirmed, which options are still open and which productions are finished. The colour coding per status makes it clear at a glance.

**Can I block dates when I am unavailable?**

Yes. You can block dates in the calendar for holidays or other commitments. Blocked dates are marked so you can immediately see when you are unavailable. If you share your availability link with a casting agency, they see those days as "unavailable".

**Will I get a reminder for my shoot day?**

Yes. You automatically receive an email before every shoot day. By default it arrives one day before, but you choose per option: 1, 2 or 3 days, one week before, or no reminder at all. On your account page you set what is pre-selected for new options.

**Do I still need spreadsheets or loose notes?**

No. Casting Agenda keeps everything in one clear agenda: productions, agencies, fees, shoot days and your quitclaims. Spreadsheets, emails and loose notes are no longer needed.

**Can I see what is coming up on TV?**

Yes. Your dashboard has a tile called Coming up on TV: all completed productions with a broadcast date in the next 30 days, with the broadcaster and how many days are left. Below it is Still to be broadcast: everything you have done but has no broadcast date yet, or a date in the future. The Broadcasts filter button shows only these tiles.

**Is the broadcast date filled in automatically?**

Yes, if the production can be found. If an option has no broadcast date yet, Casting Agenda looks up the title on The Movie Database (TMDB) every day. Only the title is sent, no details about you. A date it finds is filled in and shown to you after you log in. If the app later finds a different date, it asks you first whether you want to use it. A date you enter yourself is never overwritten. Not every Dutch production is listed on TMDB; if yours isn’t, simply enter the date yourself.

**Can I keep track of how visible I was?**

Yes. After the broadcast, you note for each production how visible you were: not on screen, background, midground or foreground. This applies to all options with the same title. You’ll see it again in the Visibility tile on your dashboard. Only you can see it; there is no score or ranking.

### Financial

**Can I track fees and payments?**

Yes. For each option you can enter the fee and payment term. The dashboard shows upcoming payments and your total income per month and per agency.

**How do I know which payments I’m still expecting?**

The dashboard shows an overview of upcoming payments. For each option, the expected payment date is calculated from the shoot date and the payment term you entered. You can tick payments off once they’ve arrived.

**Can I export my data?**

Yes. You can export all your options to CSV or Excel. The file contains all details, including fees, agencies and dates. Casting Agenda does not give tax advice: for your tax return, please consult an accountant or tax adviser.

**What is the monthly overview?**

On the first of every month you receive an email looking back at the previous month — shoot days, productions, what you earned and what is still outstanding — with a CSV file of all your options as a backup. If there was nothing to report that month, you get no email. You can turn the monthly overview off on your account page.

**Can I keep my quitclaim?**

Yes. For each option you can upload up to 10 quitclaims as PDF, JPG, PNG or WebP files (up to 10 MB per file), so you can always find them with the production they belong to. Other documents, such as receipts or call sheets, cannot be uploaded; keep those yourself.

### Account & privacy

**Is my calendar private?**

Yes. Your calendar is only visible to you; other users cannot see it. Be careful with your personal calendar link (iCal): it opens without logging in, so your phone calendar can read it. Do not share it. The availability link is meant to be shared: it only shows dates, no productions, titles or locations.

**Can I delete my account?**

Yes. You can fully delete your account from the account page. If you log back in within 24 hours, the request is cancelled. Otherwise you automatically receive an email with an export of all your options, and your account and all data are permanently deleted within 48 hours of your request.

**Can I keep my production history?**

Yes. Finished productions stay in your account, so you always have an overview of your work history and past jobs.

**Can I invite fellow extras?**

Yes. On your account page you’ll find a personal invitation link you can share. The counter shows how many people you’ve already invited.

**What languages is the app available in?**

Casting Agenda is available in Dutch and English. Your language is set automatically when you create your account, and all emails will be sent in that language.

**What happens if I don't verify my email address?**

After creating your account you receive a confirmation email. If you have not verified within 7 days, we send a warning email. If you still do not respond, the account is automatically deleted 14 days after signup. Be sure to verify your email in time to keep your account.

**Can I turn off emails?**

Partly. On your account page, under Emails, you can turn off the tips and the monthly overview. The email on the day a production airs is part of the tips. Emails the app needs to work keep coming: your account confirmation, password reset, shoot-day reminders and a warning before an unused account is deleted. You can turn off the shoot-day reminder per option.

### Integrations

**Can I see my shoot days in my phone’s calendar?**

Yes. On your account page, Calendar tab, copy your personal calendar link and add it to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. Your shoot days and broadcasts will then appear automatically in your regular calendar. Think the link has ended up with someone else? Click "Create new link": the old link stops working immediately.

**Can I get push notifications?**

Yes. Turn on push notifications on your account page, Calendar tab. You then get a notification the day before your shoot day, an hour before you need to be there, when an option becomes booked, done or not booked, and on the day a completed production is broadcast. On an iPhone this only works in Safari (iOS 16.4 or newer) and only if you added the app to your home screen.

**Do I get a message when my production airs?**

Yes, if your recording is broadcast. On the day a completed production airs, you get an email with the title and the broadcaster. If you have push notifications on, you get that too. If an option has a broadcast date, it also appears in your calendar feed, so you can find the broadcast later.

**Can I import existing data?**

Yes. On the account page, Data tab, upload an Excel file (.xlsx or.xls) or a CSV file to add options in bulk — including a semicolon-separated CSV, like Excel makes in Dutch. A file can be up to 5000 rows and 2 MB. Example files show which format to use.

### Who & why

**Who is Casting Agenda for?**

Casting Agenda is designed for extras, featured extras and performers who are registered with one or more casting agencies and want to keep track of their options, bookings and shoot days.

**Why is an overview important for extras?**

Many extras work with several agencies at once, so options and shoot days can easily get mixed up. Casting Agenda helps you avoid double bookings and keep a clear schedule.

**I’m new to being an extra — is this app for me?**

Absolutely. Especially as a beginner it helps to track where you have applied, which options you have and what your schedule looks like. That way you stay organised as you get more bookings.
